On Saturday, October 10, 2020, The Newark Hispanic Commission and The Latino Edification Multi Cultural Aid Center (in conjunction with the City of Newark), honored ASPIRA Inc. of New Jersey (ASPIRA) for Hispanic Heritage Month.
ASPIRA staff member Raul Medina received the resolution on behalf of Executive Director Carlos Valentin, Jr. Medina shared that it was "an honor to be recognized by the city for our work with youth and families, especially during the current health pandemic that is COVID-19."
The event concluded with a flag raising ceremony, along with a small private reception at Latin Flavor Lounge.
ASPIRA would like to take a special moment to thank Ms. Lissette Colon Morales for nominating us for such a prestigious honor. We are proud to be an advocate for youth and families, and it is great to have her as a partner and ally.
