The ASPIRA After-School Enrichment Program uses a holistic approach to empower youth, to help them develop personal goals and the desire for a productive future, in addition to developing their sexual literacy and educating them about the consequences of sexual activities.  The program model also provides opportunities for young people to discover interest and develop talents, as well as emphasizing education and employment.

The purpose of ASPIRA after School Program is to provide students with the following components:

  • Educational component will help students to obtain tutoring to complete the homework, research and term papers, and help students to practice for their Standardized test (NJ ASK). Also, the Educational personnel will use different approach us as: one-on-one or small group tutoring session to help students. They will be able to help the students on Math, English, reading, writing and reading comprehension skills.
  • Employment Component will help students to have a full introduction to the “world of work” including opening ban accounts, exploring career choices and providing summer and part-time jobs. Participants are paid a stipend and make monthly deposits in their bank accounts. 
  • Self Expression component will help students to discover their talents and built self-esteems by providing weekly art and crafts, dance, music, and TV production.  
  • Family Life and Sexuality Education (FLSE) Component will help students to understand their sexuality and educating them about the consequences of sexual activity. These comprehensive sexuality education sessions taught in an age appropriate fashion.
