In order to achieve our goals, ASPIRA employs a unique, holistic approach to the education of at-risk youth and their families. Intensive intervention is provided through a network of activities and services using the 3-Step ASPIRA Process of Awareness, Analysis, and Action. Activities include one-to-one counseling on academic, personal and career goals, tutoring, workshops on life issues, and educational trips that explore educational and career options. Through these strategies students develop a strong, positive sense of self-worth; an appreciation of the value of education; an understanding of the importance of their own contribution and commitment to the community; an awareness of the responsibilities and skills needed for leadership; and an appreciation for their cultural heritage.
